Copying graphs into a Word file:

1. Save the graph onto your disk: Make sure the graph is highlighted, then select File > Save Graph As.  Change the file type to JPEG (.jpg).  In Word, choose Insert > Picture > From File. If you click on the picture, a toolbar will appear.

OR

2. Copy and paste: Make sure the graph is highlighted and then use ctrl-C to copy (or Edit > Copy Graph). Then in Word, use Edit > Paste Special and change the type to Picture.  Click on the picture and then right click the mouse.  From the pop-up menu, choose “Format Picture.”  Click the Layout tab and select “In line with text” as the Wrapping style.

Creating the graphs this way allows you to resize the picture by clicking on one of the edge squares of the picture and dragging the mouse in and to use the picture toolbar

including the “crop” tool .  If you select this tool and then drag in one of the edges, the area will be cut from the picture.  This is very convenient for trimming excess white space from around your Minitab graphs.  If you don’t see the Picture toolbar, right click on the picture and choose Show Picture Toolbar.
